Tough Enough to Listen. Skilled Enough to Help You Heal and Grow.
Psychotherapist specializing in men’s mental health and couples therapy — blending proven methods with a no-nonsense, deeply caring approach.
“Iron sharpens iron,
and so one man should sharpen another” (Proverbs 27)
My experiences have shown me how positively one man can affect another. I have seen this effect in my individual work as well as in my work with couples.
About Chris
Chris is not your typical therapist. He’s been described by clients as the “black belt karate master of the therapy world” — a nod to his tough, disciplined approach combined with deep empathy. For over a decade, Chris has dedicated himself to helping men and couples navigate life’s toughest emotional challenges with strength and resilience.
Using evidence-based methods like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for individuals and the Gottman and Statkin approaches for couples, Chris adapts his style to fit each client’s unique needs. His eclectic approach means he’s not afraid to mix techniques, always aiming for what works best to get results.
Chris believes that real healing requires both honesty and heart — a balance of manly grit and genuine care that creates a safe space where clients can grow, change, and thrive.
His Approach & Philosophy
In sessions, Chris is genuine, compassionate, and grounded. There’s no judgment, only support — and the right tools to help you move forward. He brings urgency and seriousness when required and will always find a way to bring humor into the room.
Individuals
The magic you feel your life is missing may be in the situations, feelings and or people you are avoiding. Depression, stress, conflict, grief, addiction, or disconnection create faulty patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that can trick us into giving up that magic in exchange for temporary safety.
Couples
The problems couples face can become complex and emotionally damaging quicker than most think. It therefore becomes important to address issues as soon as possible. Regardless of the timing or the issues present in the relationship, Chris believes that there are skills and solutions that can address the complicated nature of any relationship giving a couple the best chance to heal and grow together.
Men
Chris believes the pain each man carries is deeply personal — but not unfamiliar. Most men are taught from an early age what emotions are “acceptable” to feel and when they’re allowed to feel them. Messages like “toughen up,” “be strong,” or “don’t cry” become internalized, leaving many men saying “I’m alright” when they’re anything but.
Chris believes these patterns must be challenged.
“For reasons that escape me, it seems like the world wants Men to forget how important and necessary we are. I have not forgotten. Let me remind you.”
That’s the work we’ll do together.
What He Offers
Men’s Mental Health
Chris works with men who are ready to face their struggles head-on — whether it’s anxiety, anger, trauma, relationship issues, or just the weight of keeping it all together. His approach is direct, grounded, and real. You won’t find clichés or soft talk here — just honest conversation and tools that actually help.
Couples Therapy
Using the Gottman Method and Stan Tatkin’s Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT), Chris helps couples cut through the noise, rebuild trust, and reconnect emotionally. Whether you’re in crisis or just stuck in the same old patterns, Chris brings clarity, structure, and compassion to the work of restoring connection.
No two people are the same — and neither is the path to healing. Chris draws from a wide range of modalities to build an approach that fits you, not the other way around. His sessions are focused, purposeful, and always anchored in the belief that change is possible.
